When is my order going to ship?
Your product will be handmade in our Toronto factory and requires time to be custom-made. For current shipping times, please refer to specific products on our website under "Shipping." If you've already placed an order and would like an estimated shipping date, please contact us.
What is your return policy?

While we are confident you will love your Monte product, in case you don't, here's our return policy...

  • Merchandise refund for any reason within 14 days of receiving your order.
  • Shipping charges to and from our Toronto warehouse will not be refunded. Return shipping cost will vary depending on your location.
  • Product must be returned in its original packaging so make sure to keep those boxes if you're not sure.
  • If your order is older than 14 days, please contact us directly at 1-866-604-6755 or contact us to see whether your item is eligible for return/exchange.
What is your warranty?

Monte Design offers the following manufacturing warranty:

  • 5 years on the wooden or steel frame
  • 5 years on springs
  • 2 years on glider mechanism
  • 1 year on foam and fabric

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Original proof of purchase is required to make a claim. Warranty is non-transferable.
  • If the chair has been altered in any way, the warranty will be void (i.e. reupholstering, adding fabric treatment, etc.)
  • Claims relating to regular wear & tear, dye transfers, misuse of the product causing damage/deterioration are not classified as manufacturing defects and will not be covered by warranty.
  • Monte Design reserves the right to charge for any additional expenses that may be incurred during a warranty claim (i.e. shipping & labour costs).
Do you ship outside of the United States and Canada?

Yes we ship to most International locations. Please contact us for quotes and eligibility.

Will there be any duties or taxes added to my order?

No, there are no additional charges.

General Questions

Where are your products made?

All our products are made in our Toronto, Canada factory, except for the stand that holds our ninna nanna bassinet, which is currently made in Asia.

Do you offer a designer discount?

Yes, we offer a discount to designers and members of the trade. Please contact us with your business credentials for approval or call 1-866-604-6755.

Do you reccommend any kids furniture that go well with Monte Design furniture?

Does Monte Design Group support any charities?

Yes. We proudly support Sick Kids Hospital of Toronto, Children's Aid Foundation, along with several other local children's charities.

Does your furniture meet all North American safety standards?
Yes. All our products meet or exceed all Canadian and American safety standards.
Does your foam or fabric contain any harmful toxins or flame retardants?

No. All of our products do not contain any harmful toxins such as PBDE's or any flame retardants. We are committed to using safe, proven and sustainable supplies for all our customers, especially the littlest ones. For more info, please visit our sustainability page.

Furniture Care | Fabrics | Assembly

How do I care for my furniture?

UPHOLSTERY:

  • Avoid placing furniture in direct sunlight or heat; fading or discoloration may occur
  • Vacuum furniture regularly to remove dust and dirt
  • Spot clean when necessary as soon as a spill occurs

How to Spot Clean:

  • Gently blot the stain with a clean white cloth.
  • Lather a clean white cloth (or clean soft brush) using bit of a mild soap and water solution and gently wipe the area using short circular motions on the spill.
  • Once the spill has been removed, blot the area again with a rung out damp cloth to remove any soap residue.
  • Blot with a fresh dry cloth and allow to dry.

For tougher stains or overall soiled condition, please consult a professional upholstery cleaner.

BONDED LEATHER or MICRO SUEDE:

  • To prevent fading and/or cracking of the fabric, avoid placing furniture in direct sunlight or heat. Do not use abrasive cleaners and or acidic cleaning products.
  • Vacuum micro suede regularly to remove dust and dirt
  • Spot clean when necessary as soon as a spill occurs. Please see further instructions above under "How to Spot Clean"
  • Avoid wearing dark denim or other dark clothing while sitting in a light-coloured chair; it may rub off onto the white or light fabrics and can be difficult to clean.

KIDS' CHAIR COVERS & BASSINET COVERS:
To avoid shrinking and fading, turn inside out and wash separately in cold water. Never allow covers to remain soaking in water, or colors may bleed. Do not put in dryer. Lay flat to dry. Use a cool iron if necessary.

Should I add any additional stain protection to my upholstered item like a Scotch-Guard?
No, we do not recommend treating our fabrics with any stain protectors or treatment products.
Is any assembly required for your products?

All of our products arrive fully assembled, except for the bassinet rocker base and our beds, which require minimal assembly.

Is there a way to lock the gliding motion?

No, our gliders do not have the option of locking. However, our grano glider recliner will not glide once the chair is reclined.

What is bonded leather?

Bonded leather is a fabric made from 80% recycled leather and high grade polyurethane.

Are any of your products available in COM (customer's own material)?

We do not offer COM. We can, however, manufacture the lumbar pillow that comes with the chair in your own supplied fabric. Please inquire about details.
